Center for Research and Development of Metal Materials

Founded on December 15, 2011, the Center for Research and Development of Metal Materials is a college-level unit and key research unit at NCHU. Its core technical objective is to develop the technology to recycle melted inorganic desulfurization slag.

The Center's vision is to provide research and development, testing analysis, technological consultation, and talent development. R&D includes developing new products and improving the manufacturing process, while talent development includes developing new talents and providing on-the-job training.

Intelligent Automation and Precision Machinery Research Center

Intelligent Minimally-Invasive Device Center

This college, to promote the research and applications of minimally-invasive technologies and follow the rooting policy of the medical devices industry, established the Intelligent Minimally-Invasive Device Center under the College of Engineering.

Founding Purpose and Objectives:

1. Integrate the faculty and researchers in the R&D departments of different fields within this college, promote collaboration between NCHU's faculty, hospitals, and companies in the industry, providing assistance for the industry to apply and develop innovative technologies.
2. Combine educational and internship/clinical resources from both NCHU and the health system.
3. Develop and recruit relevant talents.
4. Develop an interdisciplinary research team with scholars of various backgrounds to inspire the R&D of innovative technologies.
5. Develop a base center for minimally-invasive procedures in central Taiwan.

Unmanned Vehicle Research Center

The Unmanned Vehicle Research Center was established to promote the domestic development of unmanned vehicle technologies, the applications of such technologies to the industry, and the combination of the academic and industrial aspects of unmanned vehicle technologies. This center also promotes collaboration with the industry and boosts the research potential on unmanned vehicle technologies in Taiwan.
